Project (WHarmony):

Location: West Lafayette, IN
Duration: 12 weeks

Purpose: Build a fully functioning website in which users can rent warehouses across the US, where both lenders and lendees have accounts and can communicate and sign the lease contracts

Coding Languages and Programs: CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Matlab, PHP, SQL, R

​Project milestones:

• Identify problem in the warehouse leasing industry
• Identify datasets to implement into our database
• Identify how to implement a machine learning algorithm into our website
• Design the machine learning algorithm that tells users when and where the cheapest times and places would be to lease
• Design website
• Create social media account for the business
• Connect the machine learning algorithm and the database to the designed website
• Write the report for submission

Functions of WHarmony:

• ​Create account as lender and lendee
• Login as lender and lendee
• Upload warehouses as lender with time availabilities to rent
• Search for warehouses using Zipcodes as lender
• Search for price prediction to rent a warehouse as a lendee
• Search for price prediction to lend a warehouse as a lender
• Sign contract between lendee and lender
• Rate the warehouses as the lendee
• Rate the lender as the lendee
• Rate the lendee as the lender
• Contact WHarmony through our e-mail as both lender and lendee

Personal Tasks:

• Contributed ideas to brainstorm for our business model
• Helped create our database and the Entity-Relationship Diagram
• Helped come up with ideas for what machine learning algorithm to use on our website
• Helped implementing machine learning algorithm that predicted costs of leases, once duration, dates and size of warehouses were put in to the search engine
• Created the web - design for the entire website using HTML, CSS, Javascript etc.​
